Just finished participating in a speech and debate tournament. I did pretty well.
I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I actually like speech and debate tournaments.
Yes, Emily, you can tell me "I told you so."
I want to go to another one...seriously.
Just as a foot note. What do you guys think of a blessed rosary. I had an interesting conversation with a catholic at the tournament. She brought up the topic of a rosary bead necklace that was blessed by the bishop. Tell me what you think about this idea.
Simon
Simon,
ReplyDeleteI won't say I told you so. But I'm thinking it.
So as a man thinketh in his heart...so is he. Hmmm. LOL
By the way.....I'm proud of all of you. I knew you'd do well. I believe in you!
ReplyDeleteI am glad to know you enjoyed it! You did really well! I don't have to tell you "I told you so"...you did it for me. LOL.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the next tournament as well!
You just said it though. That was such a hypocritical statement Emily.
ReplyDeleteVery funny. I was simply repeating the words YOU said and affirming them. Plus, I didn't really say anything...I typed it. =)
ReplyDeleteAnd you are using an incorrect usage of the word "hypocritical"
According to merriam-webster's online dictionary it states that a hypocrite is...
1: a person who puts on a false appearance of virtue or religion
2: a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings
Clearly we can see that it is not a hypocritical statement. YOU stated what I believed.
Excuse me for living! Oh, and by the way, you've been debating way to long.
ReplyDeleteIt is impossible to debate for to long. It's just that awesome. Seriously
ReplyDeleteHey Simon!! Hahaha, can't believe I found your blog! You did SO well in speech and debate! I totally know what you mean... tournaments are so fun/awesome!! It was so fun to have you and Jonah stay at our house! Hahaha... you finally did well at Blokus! lol.

Finally did well, I was doing awesome the entire time...maybe I was just practicing...never mind, I guess it took me a little bit of time to learn.
ReplyDeleteHey, Simon...about the Rosary. Are you talking about the prayer? Or the beads? (by the way, Rosaries aren't usually used as necklaces.) What I would say is that for me the Rosary is a way to pray while meditating on Scripture. The beads are just to help you keep track of where you are in the prayer.

So do you guys have a meorized prayer when you speak to God? I'm asking in a very respectful manner. I just want to know what you guys think. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI just figured out that you can REPLY to comments. Sorry. Actually, there are sort of a lot of different issues/doctrines involved with your question. I could answer here but it would probably be kind of long. Maybe email me? Anne G. has my email.
